Naast zijn werk als grafisch ontwerper en art director van tijdschriften en boeken, is Patrick van der Doef ook een fervent reiziger en fotograaf. 

Zijn thuisbasis is Amsterdam en ook Parijs, Brussel, Moskou en Buenos Aires behoorden jarenlang tot zijn werkterrein. Naast de voorliefde voor tijdschriften publiceerde hij reisboeken over Argentinië en fietsgidsen voor Buenos Aires en Parijs. Sinds enkele jaren is hij zich gaan toeleggen op het fotograferen van bijzondere (moderne) gebouwen, voornamelijk in het buitenland. In dit boek een selectie van de meest tot de verbeelding sprekende foto’s.

Al eerder publiceerde Patrick van der Doef het koffietafel fotoboek; " 59 Moderne iconische gebouwen". Dit boek is uitverkocht.

In addition to his work as a graphic designer and art director of magazines and books, Patrick van der Doef is also an avid traveler and photographer.
His home base is Amsterdam and Paris, Brussels, Moscow and Buenos Aires were also part of his working area for many years.
